Hanging in there

Last Thursday I woke up with a severe sore throat and cold. That was the day I had to travel to Houston with my brother. It was the most miserable trip ever. At first I thought the muscle aches and pains were caused by riding in a truck (I almost needed a ladder to get in that thing), but it turned out to be due to fever. At an intersection in Houston, I finally dug out my thermometer and took my temperature. It was 100°F. If it ever gets to 101°F, I have to go to the ER.

We spent the night with my brother’s friends Chuck and Gigi. I ran a fever all that night and woke up Friday with a fever. But an hour later it went away. So I was able to have chemo as scheduled on Friday.

The nausea is just as bad as before. It is aggravated by congestion and cough. Having multiple things wrong at once is no fun. The nausea should be gone by Saturday; I hope the cold goes away by then too.

I’m so glad I only have one more chemo session. I can’t take much more of this nausea. I started this journey feeling perfectly fine, so I can only imagine what chemo is like for the elderly or someone with a pre-existing health problem like diabetes. They have my utmost compassion.

Praying for you as we all have sinus infection here, but without the chemo. Can not imagine the discomfort. So sorry you have to go through this. God is with you and he loves you, this I know. Always praying!
